Spring/Summer Information 2009
What requirements do I need to receive aid?
- File a 2008-2009 FAFSA.
- Contact our office if you would still like to recieve financial aid for spring/summer.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits as an undergraduate and 4.5 credits as a graduate student). Full-time enrollment is still 12 credits for an undergraduate and 9 credits for a graduate student.
- NOTE: You MUST complete the Spring/Summer Supplemental Application in order to receive financial aid for the summer, including students who are studying abroad.
What type of aid am I eligible for?
- Federal Direct Loans are awarded to eligible students.
- If you received the Pell Grant at less than full-time status Fall 2008 and/or Winter 2009 you may be eligible for the remaining Pell Grant funds during the Spring/Summer semester.
How do I accept my financial aid award?
- A Financial Aid Award letter will be mailed to the PERMANENT address for new students. Returning students will receive an email notification.
- Notification will arrive approximately 2 weeks after submitting the Spring/Summer Supplemental Application.
- Your award will be based on full time attendance.
- Login to the Banner system to accept your aid electronically.
If I have accepted more money than the amount of my bill, when will I receive the excess?
- Starting Monday, May 11, 2009, our office reviews your enrollment status. If you are not registered for full time enrollment between the Spring and Summer sessions your award is adjusted.
- Student Accounts will begin processing excess financial aid money to students Thursday, May 14, 2009. You will know if an excess amount is coming to you if you see "Student Refund" on your Ebill.
- Allow at least 2 business days to receive your refund electronically and up to 7 days to receive your refund by mail.
You are also able to charge against any excess for your books at the University Bookstores on April 13th, 2009, which is the week before the first six week classes begin.
