Loan Repayment Information

Students can retrieve Federal Direct Student Loan information online as well as access their individual Federal Student Loan records by using their U.S Department of Education PIN. Federal Direct Student Loan requirements and information accessible online include:

• Completing Exit Counseling
• Contacting the Direct Loan Servicing Center
• Pursuing Direct Loan Consolidation
• Looking at your loan record on the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
• Getting repayment information on your Federal Perkins Loan (administered by GVSU)

The Direct Loan Servicing Center has many repayment options that they offer students, including standard repayment, extended, graduated and income contingent.

The Direct Loan Servicing Center has added a new program called the IBR or (Income-Based Repayment) Program:  

This plan is an alternative to the Income Contingent Repayment (ICR) Plan and is designed to make repaying education loans easier for students who intend to pursue jobs with lower salaries, such as careers in public service.
