How to Standardize Catalog Copy

How to Standardize Your Catalog Content

Updates to the GVSU online catalog system now allow us to convert online catalog copy directly to a printable format. This will ensure consistency between the printed and online catalogs, as well as save production time, paper, and money.

As a result of this change, the printed catalog will look a little different. It will likely be 8.5” x 11” and the order of content, as well as the language used for headings and subheadings must be made consistent for every program. In order for academic program catalog content to appear correctly in the printed version of the catalog, it is recommended that academic programs write catalog copy content according to the template below.

The template provides section headings and the type of content that would fit under each section heading. Please follow this template when submitting academic program catalog copy changes. Some sections will differ slightly due to variations in program offerings.
