Description
Roberto Prosseda's recent sensational discovery of new Mendelssohn works made headlines in Europe and led to his two Decca releases. His "Mendelssohn Discoveries" album (2005) has been included in the top 10 Mendelssohn piano recordings by the English magazine Piano. "Mendelssohn Rarities" (2006) received highest ratings in European and American music magazines, including Classicstoday, USA (9/9); Diapason (France); Amadeus (Italy); and Fono Forum (Germany). His most recent "Lieder ohne Wrote" won the "CD of the Month" Award by Classics FM.
Recently he has performed as orchestral soloist with Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Kammerorchester, Filarmonica della Scala, Mozarteum Orchester, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Moscow State Philharmonic, and the London Philharmonic.
Prosseda's most recent Decca project is the world premiere recording of Mendelssohn's E minor piano concerto (reconstructed by Marcello Bufalini) recorded live in Leipzig with the Gewandhaus Orchester and Riccardo Chailly, released in September 2009.
