Description
During the heyday of Eastern Long Island's fertile hip-hop music production vanguard, Free Play 16: Slow Boys was formed in 1990 by Todd Reynolds, bass clarinet/electronics, and Michael Lowenstern, violin/electronics.
Very soon it mutated into an all-electronica funk techno house avant classical jazz quartet called Portable Electronic Coffee House. That was a hard band to classify, much less book.
During the next 20 years Reynolds and Lowenstern followed their separate but always intersecting paths and often talked about getting the band back together. Now, here they are, armed with their new CD and shows for the road.
